Mamboz BBQ is one of the few places where you can find traditional and great tasting East African food cooked by Tanzanian chefs. Not only do they serve great food, but this is also a great meeting place for Swahili speakers. you will smell the wonderful aromas of BBQ food billowing from its chimney well before you arrive. further up the road if you fancy a drink, there is the Barking Dog Wetherspoons pub. All in All, this small adventure was a wonderful experience, and I will certainly be returning for more of the mouth-watering tasty food at Mamboz BBQ.
When it comes to BBQ food, Mamboz kitchen have got it right. It would be unfair to say which country does the best BBQ as they all differ in their own little ways, but the tanzanian BBQ is certainly high in the ranks when it comes to great tasting food cooked on a charcoal BBQ.
Mamboz BBQ Homemade Hot Chilli Sauces Tanzanian Style
In 2020 Laila Suleiman began her wild adventure into creating the perfect chilli sauce using exotic fruits and of course come of the finest chillies. The result is these 4 delicious, mouth-watering flavours. Hot mango chilli sauce, Tamarind chilli sauce, Hot chilli sauce and Extra hotttt chilli sauce. Her flavours are unique and influenced by her Tanzanian culture and up-bringing.
Opening time and locations may vary from time to time so always a good idea to check Mamboz BBQ website for up-dates and changes.
With so much variety to choose from, deciding what to eat at Mamboz BBQ is not an easy task as it all looks and tastes so delicious. I chose the mixed meat selection and next time i will be trying either the BBQ seabass or Urojo Zanzibar mix. Maybe I will treat myself and have them both.
These dishes are freshly cooked every day using a real charcoal half barrel BBQ and seasoned with traditional Tanzanian and Zanzibar spices giving it that authentic east African flavour.
My advice to anybody ordering too much in one sitting is be warned because no matter how full you are you will not stop until everything is gone. this could leave you bloated and unable to move for a short while but washed down with some refreshing Tamarind juice and you will Leave knowing for certain you will be back.
