Gammon steak may seem like an easy option to cook, but when you are cooking it proffessionally it has to be done right. So in this post I have set out the basic Recipe to make the perfect Gammon, Egg, Chips & Peas.

There are so many different ways to cook this amazing Popular dish, below is a recipe that will make sure you get it right.

Very simple and easy to prepare with ingredients that can be souced from your local Supermarket.

Recipe for Gammon, Egg, Chips & peas

Ingredients

Raw Gammon Steaks x 2

Fresh potatoes x 3

Fresh Eggs x 2

Frozen peas 2 portions

vegetable oil

salt & pepper

Procedure

  1. Heat a pan on the stove with some oil in it
  2. When the pan is hot place the Gammon steaks in one at a time
  3. Cook one side until golden Brown then turn over and cook the other side the same
  4. Remove steaks from pan , place on a metal tray and put in warm oven to hold
  5. Peel and cut your potatoes into chips,
  6. Put the chips into a hot deep fryer and cook until start to soften but still hard in the middle
  7. Remove and strain the chips, allow to cool
  8. make sure fryer oil is back up to heat and return the chips to the fryer and cook until golden brown
  9. Remove chips from fryer and sprinkle with some sea salt
  10. Fry an Egg
  11. Put all cooked ingredients on a hot plate and serve
